Rip Slyme were a Japanese hip-hop act formed in Kanagawa in 1994 featuring MCs Tyouji Narita (who goes by Ryo-Z), Keisuke Ogihara (Ilmari), Masatsugu Chiba (Pes) and Kazuto Otsuki (Su) plus DJ Fumiya Takeuchi (DJ Fiyuma). They broke up in 2018. Albums include 'Five' (2001), which went to number six on Japan's Oricon albums chart. 'Tokyo Classic' (2002) and 'Time to Go' (2003) topped the chart, 'Masterpiece' (2004) peaked at number two, 'Epoch' (2006) number five, 'Funfair' (2007) number two, 'Journey' (2009) number four, 'Star' (2011) and 'Golden Time' (2013) number seven and '10' (2015) number 13. The compilation release 'Good Job!' Topped the Oricon albums chart in 2005. Four tracks reached number two on Japan's Oricon singles chart: 'Funkastic' (2002), 'Rakuen Baby' (2002), 'Joint' (2003) and 'Dandelion' (2004).
