WIA driver not installed on my Windows 7 Home Premium after upgrading from Vista. (64bit) Tried installing, uninstalling and reinstalling several different new and older printers/scanners without getting better results. Printing works fine, but scanningdocuments will not work.All printers/scanners works fine on my other pc´s running Windows 7.Windows is set to automatically update and windows are not identifing any errors or problems - I have tried everything I can imagine could be helpful to identify and resolve the issue of WIA not being installed on this particular pc (HP-G62).Hopefully someone in here can help me. Hi,Check with the Scanner Maker's Support, their on-line documentation and drivers, and ask in their forumabout known issues. Are you using 64 bit drivers? You might need to be using TWAIN instead of WIA, checkwith Support.Also check HP for updated BIOS, low level chipset drivers, and the other major on-board drivers.
Thencheck with the separate device makers for updates to those drivers. Do not assume when you upgradedthe newest drivers were found as they absolutely were not.

It doesn't even tell you how much disk space you willneed for a fully functioning release version of the program (theremay be a whole bundle of support files needed by the ex-ecutablesuch as DLLs)When you buy a compiler with, possibly, other tools in thepackage you need to know what you intend to do with it. You would be better off scanning to file with the Epson scanner software and opening it in Photoshop. Twain only exists for 32 bit Photoshop, which is also installed along with the 64 bit version.

Thanks so much, Gene.I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling the Epson software (on the original CD) and the latest driver (from Epson's website) and now the scanner can be found in PS6 via WIA.However, as you say, it is extremely limited. The major limitation is that it won't scan film; only documents.However, having reinstalled the Epson software, Epson Scan has now appeared and it works perfectly with film.So, I have to use two programs - Epson Scan + PS - whereas I used to be able to scan from within PS, but it's a very minor inconvenience that is offset by the fact that you can keep working in PS whilst the scan is underway.Again, many thanks.
